We're looking for a Field Marketing Manager ready to bridge the gap between sales and marketing in one of the most competitive cannabis markets in the country. This role is all about elevating retail execution, supporting sell-through, and driving account success across Illinois, while overseeing a team of field marketing specialists.
You’ll be the key link between our internal sales team and our retail partners, ensuring every store visit, product push, and marketing activation is aligned with business goals. If you know how to move product, support reps, build retail relationships, and show up with presence, this role is built for you.
What You’ll Do:
Support sales growth: Partner with Account Executives to develop and execute go-to-market strategies across priority doors.
Strengthen retail relationships: Develop and nurture long-term partnerships with shop leadership, buyers, and budtenders to drive loyalty and sales.
Own your market: Conduct regular shop visits to build rapport, identify opportunities, and provide on-the-ground support that moves the needle.
Dial in execution: Assess stock levels, optimize displays, and make sure every product touchpoint looks and feels premium.
Audit. Capture. Communicate. Capture display photos and provide clean, detailed reports for internal analysis and decision-making.
Drive Team Performance in the Field: Hire, train, and oversee a team of field marketing specialists; schedule routes, assign goals, and drive accountability.
Activate the brand: Ensure marketing materials, signage, and swag are visible, aligned, and well-maintained across accounts.
Train the floor: Lead budtender education training sessions and ensure store staff are equipped to speak to the brand and close sales.
Keep your ear to the street: Deliver competitive intel, customer feedback, and store insights that help drive smarter sales and marketing plays.
Track the impact: Log visits, events, and touchpoints in CRM and ensure your territory performance is clear and measurable.
What You’ll Need:
Must be 21+ with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Based in Illinois
Must have a deep understanding of the regional cannabis retail landscape.
Previous experience in the cannabis industry or a strong understanding of cannabis culture and compliance is highly preferred.
3+ years of field marketing, trade marketing, or sales support experience (cannabis or CPG preferred).
Proven experience managing field or ambassador teams in a high-volume, high-touch environment.
Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
Highly organized with solid reporting habits and time management.
Willing to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
Capable of lifting 40-50 lbs and comfortable with hands‑on retail support.
Know how to talk shop with budtenders and buyers.
Love building something from the ground up.
Thrive in fast-moving industries and field-based roles.
Lead with integrity, hustle, and a “figure it out” mindset.
Are ready to make moves and grow within the cannabis industry.
