Visiting Assistant Professor, Strategic Communication
The E.W. Scripps School of Journalism invites applications for a one-year visiting professional position in strategic communication, with an option for extension. Successful candidates will teach courses in advertising and public relations within the strategic communication track and mentor undergraduate students.

Job Title: Visiting Assistant Professor, Strategic Communication Employment Type: Full‑time, 9‑month term Work Schedule: Campus, Athens
Responsibilities • Teach elective and required courses such as strategic social media, PR and advertising research, and PR and advertising theory. • Mentor undergraduate students and develop high‑impact, real‑world learning experiences. • Participate in Ohio University’s Dynamic Strategy planning, integrating experiential learning and new technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, or a related field at time of appointment.
At least 3 years of professional experience in advertising or public relations.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of AI and its application to communication.
Passion for working with student organizations such as A.A.F or PRSSA.
Commitment to experiential learning and the school’s educational approach.
