Manager, Merchandising Go to Market & Promotions Overall Job Summary The Manager of Merchandising Go to Market & Promotions plays a critical role in bridging strategic intent and executional excellence across merchandising, marketing, and planning teams. This position is responsible for managing core promotional processes and execution, leading the coordination of outbound marketing efforts, supporting enterprise-level merchandising strategies, and ensuring the alignment and continuity of retail themes and customer-facing messaging. This role is both analytical and cross‑functional, working at the intersection of category management, marketing, and operations to deliver business results through flawless campaign and promotional execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%) The Manager of Merchandising Go to Market & Promotions connects strategy with execution across merchandising, marketing, and planning to deliver cohesive retail storytelling and optimized promotional performance. This role manages key processes, ensures cross‑functional alignment, and supports enterprise‑level merchandising and marketing initiatives that drive business results.

Merchandise Playbook Management

Lead the end‑to‑end Merchandise Playbook process to align category, planning, and marketing strategies.

Maintain calendars, documentation, and deliverables to ensure clarity, accountability, and on‑time execution.

Facilitate alignment meetings and prepare leadership‑ready summaries highlighting key themes and strategies.

Partner with Marketing and Merchandising to prioritize outbound marketing assets (email, social, print, digital) based on strategic goals.

Serve as the link between Merchants and Marketing to align key messages and product stories.

Support the creation of customer‑focused marketing calendars reflecting category priorities and promotions.

Strategic Merchandising Support

Drive execution of long‑term merchandising strategies by supporting GTM readiness, campaign planning, and promotional alignment.

Provide data‑driven insights for category launches and initiatives to ensure cross‑functional preparedness.

Collaborate with analytics, finance, and planning teams to evaluate campaign ROI and performance.

Theme & Campaign Continuity

Lead seasonal and event‑based merchandising storytelling with Marketing and Merchant partners.

Ensure consistent messaging and execution across all channels and campaigns.

Manage campaign timelines and milestones to ensure flawless delivery.

Promotional Planning & Analytics

Manage execution of key promotional events including Black Friday, monthly promotions, national offers, and store openings.

Coordinate the promotional calendar to align with strategic objectives and business needs.

Partner with pricing, finance, and analytics to assess performance, profitability, and lift of promotions.

Identify and optimize high‑performing promotional tactics while eliminating underperforming offers.

Establish clear guidelines for offer submissions to ensure efficiency and strategic alignment.

This role requires strong project management, collaboration, and analytical skills to bridge merchandising and marketing functions. The Manager ensures promotional strategies and storytelling are cohesive, data‑driven, and aligned with enterprise objectives, delivering a seamless customer experience and measurable business impact.

Required Qualifications Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or related field; MBA or equivalent a plus.

Experience:

5+ years of experience in merchandising, retail planning, marketing strategy, or related functions.

Preferred knowledge, skills or abilities

Strong project management and process optimization capabilities.

Excellent cross‑functional collaboration and communication skills.

Experience working with merchandising systems, promotional calendars, and marketing workflows.

Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and translate into actionable insights.

Adept at managing competing priorities and aligning diverse stakeholders.

Retail or omnichannel experience preferred.
