Overview
The Production Control Expeditor performs a key role for the organization. This role monitors all incoming customer orders and balances with work center capacity. Works closely with assigned manufacturing departments to monitor production against build schedules. Interacts regularly with our Sales force in updating projected shipments. Engages Engineering & Document Control personnel as needed to ensure Bills of Materials are accurate. Supports the Accounting department in closing work orders in a timely and accurate manner. Is a resource for all departments and personnel in system and process functions.
Responsibilities
Utilize the NetSuite cloud-based ERP system (Oracle) along with Smart Factory MES.
Review all open Sales Orders of assigned product lines for accuracy in configuration, and schedules based on current capacity/run rates as established by Production, and the Master Scheduler.
Utilize MRP/other software to create and release all work orders to the respective departments in timely manner. Monitor and track work order status relative to the production schedule. Notify production personnel and Master Scheduler of concerns relative to production schedule being maintained.
Monitor all work order progress through production build. Notify Procurement department of any shortages in material needs to support the plan. Reports weekly on status of work in process to the Master Scheduler.
Review and close all work orders in a timely manner and ensure work order costs are accurate. Maintain records as required.
Coordinate with Engineering and Document Control regarding changes to either Bill of Materials, or routing steps. This includes incorporating changes to existing work orders, or suggesting changes as needed.
Process Sales Order fulfillment in coordination with the Shipping department and Accounting department as product is prepared and released for customer shipment.
Performs routine transactions related to inventory to ensure accurate statement of inventory levels, including adjustments and location transfers.
Assists all other users in establishing and following processes throughout the production cycle. Acts as an expert in system utilization.
Qualifications
At least 1 year of experience in Production Control or 2 years in Manufacturing Operations preferred.
Experience with MRP/Shop Floor Control software strongly preferred.
Requires solid written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical, conceptual, and planning skills are required.
Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft 365 Office) are required.
Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined with the ability to manage multiple tasks and handle distractions effectively.
Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-Verify.
Education A high school diploma or GED preferred, strong preference for higher education or professional certifications in the area of Supply Chain, Inventory Control, or Manufacturing Operations.
