About Our Client:
Addison Group is partnering with our client to hire a skilled Authorizations Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting their revenue cycle operations.
Job Description Addison Group is seeking a dependable and detail-driven Authorizations Specialist to support our client’s authorization and insurance processes. This role provides hands‑on exposure in a busy healthcare setting and will cover a temporary leave with potential for full‑time hire.
Key Responsibilities
Review assigned work queues within the EMR system for upcoming procedures and submit required authorization requests through payer portals
Follow up on denied authorizations by preparing appeals or requesting updates/changes when necessary
Stay informed on evolving insurance rules and guidelines related to procedure approvals
Communicate professionally with patients, payers, and internal staff to gather or provide information
Support front‑end tasks such as appointment coordination or entering insurance details when needed
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Background in healthcare insurance verification, billing, or related administrative functions
Prior experience completing authorization requests is required
Working knowledge of EPIC preferred; Athena exposure is a plus
Strong accuracy, organization, and follow‑through
Excellent communication and customer service skills
