Associate Commercial Project Portfolio Manager

Location: Hershey, PA Summary: Strategic leader of business-critical product portfolio initiatives and portfolio reviews by partnering with various cross-functional groups to support business priorities. Responsibilities: Supports commercial portfolio reviews and acts as key partner point of contact for the respective portfolio leader (Sr Mgr / Mgr), in partnership with the portfolio operations team. Provides expert analysis, mines insights, and recommends actions while delivering forward-looking project portfolio visibility and viability, financial assessment, and capacity indicators to drive prioritization and business decisions. Contributes to Stage-Gate process design across Types and Tiers for the assigned individual projects and participates in initiatives to continuously improve the Stage-Gate process, deliverables, Accolade system, and/or project portfolio management tools. Provides critical leadership role in ensuring the successful development and execution of Medium / Low complexity projects for the commercialization of new and changing products/pack @types, actively leading timelines, defining scope, managing resources, holding functions responsible for deliverables, and owning the budget, while requiring considerable coaching. Accountable to deliver profitability and operational success by problem solving, removing roadblocks, elevating risks/issues, developing risk mitigation plans/contingencies, and facilitating decision making to drive projects forward through the stage gate process. Project management process expert - owns project execution and adherence to stage gate processes from project initiation (confirming correct project @type & tier) through 1st delivery to the customer. Core competencies: Portfolio and project management exposure (e.g. served as cross-functional team member or managed simple projects) Strong resource management and planning Exceptional organizational skills Process excellence and orientation Negotiation and influence Drives objective decision-making Strong skills in managing multiple priorities Collaboration and teamwork Strong oral and written communication skills SAP experience Intermediate to expert level Microsoft Project skills Excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to make timely/sound decisions, and implement agreed upon solutions Ability to work under pressure and be comfortable taking ownership of leading a team towards a quick resolution Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required 2-5+ years of related work experience, preferably in CPG - Product Lifecycle Management PMP Certified preferred Lean Six Sigma preferred
