JOB SUMMARY The Senior Manager, Consumer Insights & Marketing Intelligence will play a role in driving the success of Shiseido Americas as a senior member of the CIMI team by bringing a richer and deeper understanding consumer behavior, trends and preferences to help shape and build the U.S. and Global brand strategies. This high visibility role will partner with senior leadership to bring analytical rigor and consumer-centric, data-driven decision making to the forefront of driving brand growth.
The Senior Manager will be accountable driving the consumer insights roadmap to tackle key business questions and challenges. They will provide insights on how the business can evolve, defend itself against competitors, and build market share. This role will report to the VP of Consumer Insights & Marketing Intelligence, collaborating closely with U.S.-based Global Marketing, U.S. Marketing, U.S. Commercial/Sales, and several external vendor partners.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Develop and own the consumer insights project roadmap aligned to building and activating brand strategy for regional and global teams, including new product development, creative optimization, 360 marketing activations, category/channel expansion, etc.
Lead and execute quantitative and qualitative research studies. Design vendor-led and DIY research including in-house survey design and programming, quotas and fielding and analysis/reporting, ensuring insights are clear and actionable.
Manage foundational research programs including our 4C’s (Consumer, Category, Channel and Competitive) Study, Brand Equity Tracking and Category Segmentation
Influence cross-functional teams, working closely alongside business partners to create brand strategies grounded in market data and consumer intelligence
Deliver macro trends and foresights shaping the beauty category to uncover new opportunities and refine existing strategies
Translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives that inform senior leaders and influence business strategies
Connect the dots across separate customer data sets including custom research, analytics (market/retailer sales, CRM) and syndicated sources (social listening, shopper insights, trends) to answer key business questions
Stay current on new research methodologies and tools and lead pilot programs to further advance the analytic and insights muscle in the organization
Lead the development of a best-in-class consumer insights function that creates deep consumer relationships and global beauty brands
You will perform other duties as assigned
WHO YOU ARE
6-8 years of experience in consumer insights, business intelligence and/or analytics departments.
Understanding of Retail, FMCG, CPG, Luxury and/or Beauty industries including business related experience in marketing and product development, preferred.
Expert analytical proficiency using syndicated data sources, customer data analytics, and quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
Strategic thinker who takes a broad view of the business, industry and consumers to anticipate and identify future opportunities.
Thrives on collaboration, building trusted and respectful relationships, promoting the inclusion of diverse knowledge, skills and experiences to push boundaries.
Highly self-motivated, self-starter, problem solver and intellectually curious.

The base pay for this position may vary based on geographic location. Actual base pay offered will be based on several factors including job-specific knowledge, education, skills, and depth of experience. In addition to base pay, we may offer additional forms of compensation as components of a total compensation package, including participation in our bonus program which features the ability to overachieve, in addition to a full range of competitive benefits.
