Circulation Aide- West Barnstable, Whelden Memorial Library (Barnstable) Whelden Memorial Library seeks a friendly, customer-service-oriented individual for the position of Circulation Aide. This is a part-time, 15-hour-per-week position, with a fixed schedule of Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Additional opportunities to substitute for other staff may be available. The Circulation Aide will play an important role in the smooth day-to-day operation of the library by assisting patrons, supporting circulation services, and performing behind-the-scenes tasks such as book processing and interlibrary loan support. Responsibilities Assist patrons with borrowing services, including checking items in and out, renewing materials, and placing holds Provide basic computer and technology assistance to patrons Offer general library support in a courteous, helpful manner aligned with library policies Maintain collection organization through shelving and shelf-reading Handle fines and fees and process payments accurately Assist with materials processing, including preparing new items for circulation Support interlibrary loan operations, including monitoring and processing Commonwealth Catalog (ComCat) requests Assist with additional library tasks as needed, including support for programs, fundraisers, and events Qualifications Strong commitment to excellent customer service and a desire to serve the community Effective communication skills with patrons of all ages and backgrounds Strong computer skills and adaptability to new technologies; experience with library software is a plus Willingness to collaborate with coworkers and contribute to daily operations Ability to prioritize tasks, remain flexible, and show initiative in a dynamic environment Full/Part Time Part Time Education NA Salary Range $16.00 - $18.00/hour Salary Notes commensurate with experience Closing Date Open Until Filled How to Apply Please submit a letter of interest and resume via email to afigaratto@clamsnet.org Posted 2025-11-14 #J-18808-Ljbffr
