Essential Functions Include Partnering with faculty to integrate research skills into the curricula and develop collections which sustain and advance the department’s research goals; Designing and teaching instructional sessions and workshops in a variety of formats, as well as creating tutorials, guides, and other digital learning objects to develop and enhance students’ research and literacy skills; Providing research consultations; Seeking opportunities to develop and strengthen relationships between the library and assigned departments as well as across the university community; Keeping up with trends and developments in the research methodologies and practices of areas of responsibility; Collaborating with colleagues in Research & Instruction in first year instruction, general research and reference assistance, and overall outreach efforts; Participating in professional development and continuing education activities; and Performing other related duties as assigned to meet the goals of the Libraries and University. Required Education And Experience MLIS from an ALA-accredited program (or equivalent). The combination of another graduate degree and relevant experience will be given equal consideration. Experience working in academic libraries 2+ years instruction experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Competencies Ability to communicate effectively with users at all levels of expertise across disciplines Projects an approachable and customer service-oriented attitude Ability to collaborate effectively and work on teams Ability to effectively and efficiently learn new resources Preferred Qualifications Second master’s or PhD in a STEM or other data-dependent field 2+ years’ experience working in research libraries Experience and/or training in conducting systematic reviews Demonstrated involvement in professional activities, including evidence of ability to contribute to librarianship, research, and service as well as capacity for leadership within the profession.
