We're seeking an exceptional Senior PR Specialist (whether from a traditional PR background or with editorial / journalism experience) to lead our public relations initiatives.  If you’re a former journalist, editor, or media professional looking to bring your newsroom expertise to the PR side, or a seasoned PR professional with agency experience, this role offers the opportunity to shape the narrative of a global platform. As the world's largest luxury dating platform, you will be instrumental in executing our PR strategy, ensuring seamless marketing operations, and maintaining absolute alignment between our internal teams and external agency partners. This is a senior role requiring independent judgment and the ability to make time-sensitive decisions that directly impact our brand reputation.

Core Responsibilities
PR Operations & Media Support
  • Draft press releases, media alerts, pitch letters, and other PR materials
  • Support incoming media requests by gathering information and preparing approved messaging
  • Maintain media lists, pitch calendars, and journalist contact data
  • Monitor, track and organize media coverage, preparing summaries and reports
  • Pitch relevant stories to journalists, bloggers, and influencers
  • Build and maintain communication with media contacts
  • Create media kits, fact sheets, bios, Q&As, and briefing materials
  • Monitor competitor PR activity and industry trends
  • Support award submission preparation
  • Manage the casting process for interviews, media features, and PR activations
  • Identify PR opportunities via Qwoted, HARO, and similar platforms
  • Suggest ideas to support brand visibility and earned media opportunities
  • Research trends, topics, and emerging conversations relevant to outreach
  • Monitor for potential risk-related coverage and flag issues to the appropriate team members
  • Assist in preparing reactive messaging or holding statements
  • Maintain crisis communication resources and contact lists
Agency & Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Serve as the main point of contact for day-to-day communication with external agency partners
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings or calls with agency teams and maintain shared calendars
  • Track agency requests and follow up on deadlines or required information
  • Review agency-provided materials for clarity and accuracy before they go to final approval
  • Help prepare notes, follow-ups, and action items from agency check-ins
  • Share brand guidelines, messaging updates, and campaign information with agencies
  • Help coordinate deliverables across teams by gathering updates, tracking timelines and delivering timely feedback
  • Prepare campaign briefs, resource notes, and timeline documentation
  • Ensure complete alignment between agency work product and internal brand standards
  • Quality control all agency outputs before distribution to media or public audiences
  • Track and report on agency performance metrics and ROI
Marketing Operations & Content Development
  • Create and update Jira tickets, track status, and maintain organized workflows
  • Gather agenda items and materials for marketing meetings
  • Update team calendars, trackers, and shared planning tools
  • Maintain and update SOPs for recurring PR and marketing processes
  • Plan, organize, and execute integrated marketing campaigns involving digital marketing, creative marketing, product teams, and external agencies
  • Develop comprehensive campaign timelines and resource allocation plans
  • Track campaign performance and compile reports with actionable insights
  • Manage campaign budgets and vendor contracts
  • Write compelling copy for various formats including blog posts, social media content, and internal communications
  • Edit and proofread all external communications for accuracy, tone, and brand consistency
  • Maintain PR asset libraries including approved imagery, boilerplates, key messaging, and executive bios
Media Relations & Reporting
  • Monitor daily media coverage across print, digital, broadcast, and social channels using tools like Muck Rack and Google Alerts
  • Compile and analyze PR metrics including reach, impressions, sentiment, and share of voice
  • Coordinate press conferences, media interviews, product launches, and special events
  • Track interactions and coverage opportunities in CRM systems
  • Manage speaker opportunities and coordinate executive visibility
  • Prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly PR reports for leadership
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in public relations, journalism, editorial, or media communications, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity
  • Alternative Path: 3+ years as a journalist, reporter, or editor at recognized media outlets, with strong understanding of PR principles
  • Proven experience managing external PR agencies or vendor relationships
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with portfolio demonstrating high-quality published work
  • Strong project management capabilities with proven ability to manage multiple complex campaigns simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and make strategic decisions with minimal oversight
  • Experience with crisis communications and reputation management
  • Proficiency with PR tools and platforms:
    • Media monitoring: Muck Rack, Cision, Google Alerts
    • Media databases: Cision, Meltwater, or similar
    • Opportunity platforms: Qwoted, HARO
    • Project management: Jira, Asana, or Monday.com
    • Analytics: Google Analytics, social media analytics tools
  • Expert knowledge of AP style and press release formatting
  • Proven track record of securing tier-one media coverage
  • Experience managing budgets and vendor contracts
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence without authority

  • 3+ years of experience at a top-tier PR agency (Edelman, Weber Shandwick, Ketchum, FleishmanHillard, Ogilvy, etc.)
  • Editorial or reporting experience at major media outlets (national newspapers, magazines, broadcast networks, or leading digital publications) with deep understanding of newsroom operations and what makes stories newsworthy
  • Published author or former editor with demonstrated ability to craft compelling narratives and understand editorial decision-making processes
  • APR (Accreditation in Public Relations) or similar professional certification
  • Established relationships with lifestyle, business, tech, and dating/relationship media contacts
  • Experience with luxury brands or consumer technology platforms
  • Experience leading or mentoring junior team members
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and digital marketing
  • Experience with influencer marketing and social media management
  • Familiarity with marketing automation platforms
  • Business development skills and ability to build strategic partnerships
