Job Summary
The Part-Time Landscape Designer supports the design team in creating a beautiful, functional, and client-focused outdoor space. This role is ideal for a beginning creative professional who enjoys working in landscape design but prefers flexible or reduced hours. This position involves assisting with design development, client communication, and project coordination.
Responsibilities
Meet with clients (independently or alongside a senior designer) to discuss goals, site conditions, and design preferences.
Create design concepts with current software for landscape installations and enhancements.
Prepare plant lists, cost estimates, and supporting documentation for proposals.
Collaborate with sales, production, and installation teams to ensure design intent is achieved in the field.
Conduct site visits to collect measurements, photos, and verify existing conditions.
Maintain design files, material selections, and project notes in accordance with company standards.
Assist with revisions, renderings, or presentation as needed.
Support other members of the design team during peak seasonal demand.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Degree or coursework in Landscape Design, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field preferred.
1-3 years of experience in residential or commercial landscape design (internship or field experience acceptable).
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, DynaSCAPE, SketchUp, or similar.
Strong knowledge of plants, materials, and regional landscape practices.
Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple small projects within flexible work hours.
