Save Job

Stoke Studio is a web and mobile software studio. We design and ship full-stack TypeScript apps for our clients—and for products we run ourselves. We’re intentionally small (currently 4 people), hands‑on, and close to the work—no layers, real ownership, and direct impact.

What you’ll do

  • Build, ship, and maintain modern web and mobile interfaces using React, React Native, and TypeScript.
  • Collaborate closely with backend engineers to design and integrate APIs (GraphQL/REST) that power seamless user experiences.
  • Partner with designers to translate Figma concepts into responsive, accessible, production‑ready UI.
  • Implement client‑side state management and data fetching using tools like Apollo Client, Zustand, or TanStack DB.
  • Optimize performance across devices—lazy loading, code splitting, and efficient rendering for web and mobile.
  • Contribute to design system components and shared UI patterns to ensure consistency across projects.
  • Maintain high code quality with testing (unit/integration), CI pipelines, and thoughtful code reviews.
  • Participate in feature planning, giving input on usability, feasibility, and technical trade‑offs.
  • Collaborate with backend, design, and product teams to deliver polished, performant releases on a predictable cadence.
  • Explore and implement emerging frontend capabilities—animations, native modules, or modern frameworks (TanStack Router/Start, Expo, Next.js).

You’re a great fit if you have

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong TypeScript + React expertise; comfortable across both web and React Native.
  • Experience integrating with APIs and understanding backend workflows.
  • A sharp eye for design details and accessibility; you care about polish and user experience.
  • Familiarity with GraphQL, REST, and common state management approaches.
  • Confidence working in a monorepo environment (PNPM/Turborepo) with shared packages.
  • Pragmatic testing habits (Vitest/React Testing Library) and an understanding of performance metrics.
  • Great communication skills and a collaborative, solution‑oriented mindset.
  • Nice‑to‑have: animation libraries (Framer Motion/Reanimated), Expo EAS build experience, or prior design system work.
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Company hardware (MacBook Pro + Apple Studio Display available)
  • Access to coworking spaces nationwide

How we work (small‑team perks)

Remote‑first with coworking access to Industrious locations nationwide (work from home or drop into high‑end spaces when you want a change of scene). Hybrid optional in Dallas—work in‑office when it’s helpful. You’ll own meaningful slices of product, not just tickets in a queue. Direct access to founders and fast decisions; your ideas ship. Focus time is valued; very few meetings.
