Best Buy is hiring: Manager, Advertising Testing and Experimentation in Minneapo
Best Buy, Minneapolis, MN, United States, 55400
Job Description
Best Buy is seeking a data‑driven and innovative Manager, Advertising Testing and Experimentation to lead the design, execution, and analysis of media experiments across our retail media network – both onsite and offsite. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement and innovation in media performance, helping shape the future of advertising at Best Buy and inform new ad products, experiences, formats, placements and more through a data‑driven testing approach. You’ll collaborate cross‑functionally with product, analytics, marketing, media ops, and external partners to develop a robust experimentation roadmap, uncover actionable insights, and guide strategic decisions that enhance customer engagement and advertiser outcomes.
This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on‑site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or another non‑Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.
What you’ll do
- Plan a key role in the design and analysis of the media experimentation roadmap across channels (onsite, offsite, in‑store, and emerging platforms).
- Design statistically sound A/B, holdout, and multivariate tests to evaluate effectiveness, creative impact, audience targeting strategies, inventory design, campaign incrementality, and more.
- Partner with analytics and media teams to execute experiments and ensure accurate measurement.
- Translate complex results into clear insights that guide media strategy and product development.
- Collaborate with product managers, media planners, and external partners to align testing with business goals.
- Champion a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement.
Basic skills
- 5+ years in media analytics, experimentation, or digital marketing.
- 2+ years of experience with statistical testing and media measurement.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience with advertising platforms (DSPs, Google Ads, retail media networks).
- 2+ years of experience with analytics and data visualization tools like SQL, R, Python, Tableau, or Looker.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders.
Preferred skills
- MBA or advanced degree in a quantitative field.
- Familiarity with cloud‑based data environments (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery) and experimentation platforms.
- Familiarity with agile development cycles and experimentation within product roadmaps.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and educate stakeholders.
