Position: Assistant Graphic Designer
Classification: Non-Exempt
Department: Marketing & Design
Location: Brea CA
Wage: $22-25/hour
Overview
Our client is seeking an Assistant Graphic Designer to support their Marketing & Design team. This role will assist the Design Manager with various creative projects, handle collateral production, support digital and print materials, and collaborate closely on web and social media initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly creative, detail-oriented, and experienced with Adobe design tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Design Manager with ongoing projects and new creative development
- Produce collateral designs, including flyers, brochures, posters, banners, and other marketing materials
- Support artwork production and proofing of copy
- Create clear and concise written communications (emails, letters, documentation)
- Format presentations and visuals to maintain brand consistency and standards
- Coordinate and ensure consistency across all digital and printed materials per store location
- Visit locations to support design-related needs
- Prepare rough sketches and illustrations; review with designers/managers and revise as needed
- Create pitch-related graphics, photos, and mock‑up renderings
- Assist with updating and maintaining website content
- Collaborate with the marketing team to produce social media content (SNS)
- Work with cross‐functional departments to ensure proper usage of all design assets, including logos and brand elements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design preferred
- Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, CapCut, Premiere, and After Effects
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Minimum 2 years of professional graphic design experience preferred
- Strong understanding of typography, layout, color, and composition
- Ability to take initiative and support concept development independently
- Effective communication skills with colleagues and supervisors
- Knowledge of current design trends and creative best practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
- Portfolio required, demonstrating design capability across images, layouts, infographics, and photoshopped visuals
Travel Requirements
- Local travel to store locations required
- Occasional domestic travel for client‑facing events such as conventions and grand openings
Flexibility
- Flexible work schedule may be required during business trips
- Weekend work may occur depending on event schedules and project deadlines
