What You'll Do
We’re looking for a Technical Writer to join our Benefits and Protection team. In this role, you’ll support the Sales Compensation Administration area with learning and development initiatives and partner with subject matter experts to create and update business processes and procedures.
Under general supervision, write, develop, and maintain business process documentation in web-based support systems. Handle new projects as needed. Act as a resource on writing, content usability, and information design to customers and staff.
- Write, develop, and maintain web-based technical documentation to support business processes. Edit and proofread content for clarity, consistency, and usability. Follow site information architecture, best practices, editorial standards, and information design guidelines.
- Collaborate with project teams, subject matter experts, and team members to ensure content accuracy and a consistent performance support experience that aligns with the training strategy, supporting what users need to know and do.
- Build relationships with internal business partners by assisting with technical documentation requests and works closely with subject matter expert to gather information.
- Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required.
Who You Are
- 4+ years of technical writing, English, communications, journalism, financial services, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Knowledge or experience with HTML, CSS, Information Mapping, and application of online documentation theory preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
- Must possess ability to maintain high degree of accuracy and pay strict attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of content management systems and Dreamweaver is preferred.
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$25.50 - $35 / hour
Time Off Program
Personal Time Off (PTO) is provided to hourly (non-exempt) employees and provides a set amount of accrued time earned each pay period. Employees can use their PTO for vacation, personal or short-term illness.

Work Environment
This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, Raleigh, NC, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
