Director, Video Production Washington Nationals
The Director, Video Production is responsible for managing the production of high-quality video and motion design content for the Washington Nationals and overseeing the Curly W Productions team, the video production department that creates impactful, engaging, and entertaining content about the team on and off the field.
The Nationals are a military-friendly organization actively recruiting veterans and spouses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the Curly W Productions team including Motion Graphic Designers, Videographer/Editors, and any game-day freelance videography and editing staff.
- Create and manage personnel schedules for all team members.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director of Content & Broadcasting to set the annual content strategy and goals for the team.
- Collaborate with the Director, Social Media on organic and sponsored content strategy, ideation, and gameday coverage plans.
- Work with the Corporate Partnership team to ideate video series concepts for sponsors and partners and design inpark Scoreboard and LED displays.
- Manage the schedule for all video shoots and edits, providing regular updates on project progress and tracking using the departments project management software (Airtable).
- Oversee the production of all audio/visual content for gameday projects, including open videos, pump videos, interviews, highlights, and pregame video content.
- Oversee the production and delivery of behindthescenes content for social media, community, longform features, TV and radio commercials, and highenergy highlight videos.
- Oversee the production of the 11th Inning Podcast with Kolko & Zim, a biweekly audio and video podcast.
- Write copy for video projects as needed, including marketing commercials, behindthescenes packages, and scoreboard videos.
- Lead ideation and planning sessions for content that supports brand and revenue goals.
- Manage the logging and cataloging of all video projects, game footage, and highlights.
- Work with the Executive Director of Game Production and Engineering to manage and maintain all video production equipment, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
- Produce content in a variety of styles and techniques, ensuring Nationals branding is implemented throughout.
- Review, proof, and edit content with a critical eye.
Requirements
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelors degree in a related field of study.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in managing personnel.
- Minimum of 8 years experience with interchangeablelens cameras.
- Minimum of 8 years experience with advanced camera support systems including sliders and gimbals.
- Minimum of 8 years experience shooting video in a cinematic style.
- Minimum of 8 years experience with professional lighting, grip, and audio equipment.
- Minimum of 8 years experience with nonlinear editing systems (Premiere).
- Minimum of 8 years experience with graphics programs (Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Minimum of 8 years experience with motion graphics programs (After Effects).
- Demo reel required.

- Work all home games and extended hours of game days and special events as scheduled.
- Comfortably interact with highprofile clients.
- Professional baseball and/or other professional sports production experience is preferred.
- Work will require weekend and evening work; function in a high activity, heavily crowded outdoor venue.
- May work at heights and be exposed to inclement weather.
- Stand for long periods, walk long distances, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit as required, and lift or move up to 45 pounds.

Compensation
The projected annual salary range for this position is $120,000 $130,000. Actual pay is based on qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other internal factors.
