SKIMS are looking for an experienced packaging designer to develop creative and cost‑effective packaging designs for our products. As a packaging designer, you will work to create functional, eye‑catching packaging that resonates with SKIMS’ target market and complies with state health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Concept and design innovative packaging solutions that reflect SKIMS’ elevated brand aesthetic and enhance the overall consumer experience.
Maintain and evolve the SKIMS packaging system, ensuring consistency across product lines, retail formats, and seasonal launches.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand project requirements, timelines, and constraints.
Partner with the Creative and Marketing teams to ensure packaging aligns with campaign storytelling, merchandising strategies, and brand standards.
Partner with graphic designers and copywriters to finalize packaging text, graphics, and visual details.
Work closely with Product Development and Production teams to ensure feasibility, cost alignment, and manufacturability of packaging designs.
Produce detailed specifications and handoff documents for suppliers; review prototypes and samples to ensure accuracy and high‑quality execution.
Work with packaging suppliers, printers, and vendors to test, refine, and qualify materials, finishes, and prototypes.
Produce packaging mock‑ups to support design reviews and decision‑making.
Conduct competitive and trend analysis to keep packaging relevant, engaging, and aligned with market expectations.
Identify suitable packaging materials and conduct feasibility studies to ensure functionality and cost efficiency.
Ensure packaging meets sustainability targets, cost objectives, and manufacturability standards.
Present final designs and recommendations to stakeholders and company leadership.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high design quality.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Bachelor's degree in industrial design, graphic design, art, or a similar field.
Marketing experience is preferable.
Proven experience working as a packaging designer.
Natural talent for design and a keen eye for detail.
Experience with market research and product placement advertising.
Familiarity with various packaging materials.
Knowledge of consumer packaging health and safety regulations.
Proficiency with 3D design software including CAD or AutoCAD.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
