JOB DESCRIPTION
Have you always had a knack for problem-solving? Are you the type of person who enjoys being hands‑on and also is a self‑starter? This Broadcast Engineer position provides critical support to a variety of station functions. This position involves maintaining computers and servers related to television transmission and video automation systems, as well as business‑side workstations.
Responsibilities
Maintain and repair station broadcast and supporting equipment as needed
Provide support in the management of Servers, Network Security and Network Services
Perform transmitter maintenance
Provide PC/Mac hardware/software support of on‑site computers, installing, servicing, updating, and repairing workstations
Address maintenance and repair requests as required.
Respond to issues regarding facilities maintenance to include but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, grounds, etc.
The possibility of unexpected and/or late‑night calls for engineering‑emergencies at the station
Act as the subject matter expert and point of contact for all things as it relates to equipment and technology at the location.
Implement, install & maintain engineering systems and provide end‑user support across all departments
Function as Chief Operator for the station broadcast license and ensure FCC compliance
Requirements
Work experience, education, and/or formal training/certification in one or more of an engineering‑related fields (e.g., technology; information systems; computer science; electrical engineering and/or electronics).
A great team‑oriented attitude and dedication to quality
Strong familiarity with Microsoft, Mac operating systems
Knowledge and competency in core hardware and computer system technologies, including installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and LAN/WAN networking
Proficiency in troubleshooting problems and responding quickly under pressure
Excellent communication skills
Valid & unencumbered driver's license
Physical Demands/Work Environment
Must be able to work a flexible schedule if needed for specific projects/repairs
Must be able to travel to remote transmitter locations to perform repairs/maintenance
Ability to work after hours, holidays and weekends as needed
Ability to lift computers and equipment generally less than 50 pounds

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $19.00 to $22.64 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates' relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
