Classification: Exempt
Position Status: Full Time
Reports To: Senior Vice President, Games
Direct Reports: None
Role Objectives: Produce highly creative and original conceptual designs for tabletop games. Develop new games to production-ready consumer products, collaborating with internal and external contributors and providing technical illustrations for model makers in Hong Kong.
Salary Band: USD $105,000-$110,000
Primary Location: US-CA-Los Angeles (Hybrid: Tues‑Thurs in El Segundo office)
Qualifications
5+ years of tabletop game development experience (preferred)
Bachelor’s degree (preferred but not required)
Experience with licensed items (preferred but not required)
Experience designing for a broad age range (3 years – adults)
Project management skills (preferred)
Responsibilities
Present tabletop games to retail customers in our showroom and occasionally at trade shows.
Brainstorm and develop gameplay for new items.
Contribute to the team that determines Moose’s next game portfolio.
Present new product concept ideas to licensors, internal team, and senior management.
Create models using prototyping skills, including 2D and 3D model making.
Provide basic production direction, including drawings for 3D representation.
Organize and facilitate gameplay testing.
Manage outside vendors, ensuring timelines and deliverables.
Prepare submissions for licensors (concept, packaging, instructions, components) and maintain approval records.
Communicate with licensors via email and virtual meetings throughout the development cycle.
Physical Demands
Regularly stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
Must be able to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods.
Requires close vision for computer work.
Light to moderate lifting required.
Good verbal communication skills.
Regular, predictable attendance required.
Work Environment
Moderate noise (office with computers, phones, printers, light traffic).
Indoor business office environment with windows and light foot traffic.
Extended computer work required.
Work Hours Monday to Thursday: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm Friday: 8:30 am – 3:00 pm 30‑minute unpaid lunch break each day Additional reasonable hours due to multiple time zones Hybrid arrangement: Tuesday‑Thursday in El Segundo office
