Summary :
The Instructional Designer supports faculty in development of high-quality courses and learning experiences for students. This position collaborates with other CETL staff members to offer faculty professional development and ongoing support for effective and accessible course design and use of instructional technology.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with faculty members to develop or revise both online and in-person courses.
Consult on the development of measurable student learning outcomes and alignment of activities and assessments.
Support faculty in use of Blackboard learning management system and other instructional technology.
Assist faculty in developing instructional materials and courses that meet accessibility standards.
Manage the Quality Matters program and other quality assurance processes for online courses.
Mentor faculty members through the Quality Matters course review process, ensuring faculty members are well-prepared and project deadlines are met.
Participate in continuing professional development in teaching and learning, including best practices in online education and teaching adult learners.
Create and deliver professional development workshops to address faculty needs in the areas of effective course development and delivery, use of instructional technology, and creation of accessible instructional materials.
Develop and collect online resources for on-demand faculty support.
Serve on university committees (such as the Professional Development Committee; Accessibility, Safety, and Wellbeing Committee; and the Academic Technology Advisory Committee) as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional technology, or related field required. Master’s degree desired.
Experience with Blackboard or other learning management system.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a timely manner.
Ability to quickly learn new digital technologies and teach others to use them.
Experience teaching or designing courses in higher education desired.
