Initial Duration: December 1, 2025 - April 15, 2026
Initial Number of Days: 13-20 days
Contingent on performance and program needs, this consulting engagement may be extended to include up to 60 days of additional LOE, and up to three years of duration.
Background PRB seeks a consultant to provides expert guidance and quality assurance for media engagement on demographic transition and sexual and reproductive health and rights across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania under a project funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO).
Scope of Work
Provide advisory services and support quality assurance on the design and implementation of media engagement related to the demographic transition (DT) and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
Co-create activities that work with local radio and television to create educational resources related to DT and SRHR.
Co-create media engagement strategies related to dissemination of new policies and plans.
Support the implementation of journalist training to build skills in evidence-driven reporting on SRHR topics.
Provide input into activities designed to engage influencers on DT and SRHR messages.
Deliverables
Review of activity workplan documents.
Participation in co-creation meetings.
Review of project deliverables.
Minimum Qualifications
Advanced experience designing and implementing media engagement programming in low or middle income country contexts.
Prior work on sexual and reproductive health and rights or demographic transition topics, or adjacent public health or development issues.
Proven ability to design and deliver training for journalists or media professionals, including on evidence use and responsible reporting.
Familiarity with influencer engagement or digital outreach approaches.
Strong ability to manage multiple activities, coordinate with regional partners, and ensure quality across deliverables.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Ability to work across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, with regional cultural and media landscape awareness.
