Position Summary McCormick Taylor has an immediate opening for a Traffic Designer I. The ideal candidate will work as part of a team on a variety of traffic analysis and design needs for a variety of transportation projects for public agencies. Projects are likely to range from concept development and preliminary engineering studies to final design.
Responsibilities
Support design efforts of signal plans, signing and pavement markings plans and traffic control plans
Support analysis and traffic study efforts including data collection, traffic projections, Synchro, crash analysis
Provide field data collection and/or field observations.
Deliver quality projects in accordance with accepted schedule and budget
Possesses and/or developing written and verbal communication skills
Organized team player able to work efficiently under tight deadlines
Job Requirements Qualifications
B.S. in Civil Engineering
2-5 years of experience in the field of traffic engineering
An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is required.
Hands‑on experience with common traffic engineering software including Synchro, and HCS (VISSIM a plus)
Working knowledge of CAD (Microstation and/or AutoCAD)
Strong communication and technical writing skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
Must have valid driver’s license.
