Position Summary We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented designer to collaborate on custom projects that align with both customer needs and organizational objectives. This role involves developing 2D and 3D structural designs through sketching, CAD, and 3D presentation software, bringing innovative concepts to life.

Duties and Responsibilities

Uses computer-assisted drafting (CAD) software to create playground components and playgrounds per the customer’s request.

Produce quick sketches, 2D and 3D representations of custom structures as required.

Work from verbal instructions and sketches; data given may be relatively incomplete and require interpretation to complete and finish concept designs.

Designs and develops concepts for new models, mechanisms, or adaptations for a product.

Price out components as needed.

Designs with manufacturing capabilities in mind.

Works closely with the rest of the custom business unit to clarify or resolve problems that develop in or from the concepting phase.

Ability to manage project deadlines, meet customer requests, and prioritize.

Maintains a dependable and predictable work attendance and productivity record with very infrequent tardiness or absence from work; displays a strong work ethic.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Two‑year certificate from a college or technical school, or 3–6 years of related experience/training (or equivalent combination).

Minimum 3 years of playground layout experience.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, 3DsMAX, and Photoshop strongly preferred.

Understanding of product development design processes preferred.

Ability to sketch and communicate ideas effectively.

Skilled in producing timely 3D representations of custom products.

High level of artistic knowledge and design skill.

Familiarity with landscape architecture processes and resources.

CPSI certification or extensive knowledge of ASTM and CPSC standards (certification may be obtained after hire).

Compensation and Benefits The target hourly range is $28–36/hr depending upon qualifications and experience. Expanded pay ranges may be available for growth and advancement opportunities. In addition to hourly pay, the compensation package also includes eligibility for profit‑sharing and monthly bonus opportunity.
