Position Overview The purpose of this role is to elevate New York City FC’s social media presence across all Club owned and operated channels. Working with the Manager, Social Media this role plays a key role in the execution and innovation of New York City FC social content.
What You’ll Do
Brainstorm and ideate content strategies for upcoming campaigns, events, and milestones, offering platform-specific ideas and trend insights
Create, schedule, and publish daily social media content across platforms across New York City FC, New York City FC II, New York City FC Youth, and City in the Community social media channels
Execute live social media coverage during New York City FC and New York City FC II home and away matches, special events, and other initiatives, including real-time updates and live content
Produce engaging multimedia content alongside photographer, videographers, and designers
Demonstrate excellent copywriting and grammar skills, ensuring both factual accuracy and social relevancy across all platforms
Identify and test social media trends, platform updates, and formats to keep New York City FC’s social presence fresh, relevant, and forward-thinking
Engage with fans and respond to comments/messages in a timely and professional manner
Leverage social media analytics to generate more impactful social campaigns and content
Infuse the New York City FC content team with new ideas, forward thinking, and a passion for content execution
Follow brand guideline specifications and ensure consistency on quality during production
Who You Are
2-5 years’ experience in professional social media role with direct publishing responsibilities
Experience concepting, pitching, and editing content from start to finish, with strong creative visual storytelling skills and attention to detail on publishing
A track record of creating innovative and unique content
Excellent communication and copywriting skills
Expert knowledge of international soccer, including MLS and the culture around the New York City and North American games
Finger to the pulse on international/NYC culture and current affairs with flair and mature editorial judgment to participate in NYCFC/sport adjacent conversations (ex: film, fashion, gaming, music)
Must be able to follow instructions and learn from constructive criticism when given and be a team player collaborating to support business goals across the organization
Knowledge of content management and analytics platforms. (e.g. Asana, Zoomph, etc.)
Social video editing experience and skills
Able to work a non-traditional work week, including nights and weekends
Spanish language working proficiency preferred
Additional Requirements
Applicant must be able to comply with MLS Next Safety and Well-Being policy and any other applicable child safety policies provided to applicants by NYCFC
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary

Compensation This exempt position has an estimated annual base salary range of $66,300 and is not overtime eligible. Final compensation offer amounts are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors such as certifications and software expertise.
