Alliant University is looking for a hands‑on content creator and a strategic thinker in social media to lead internal social content creation efforts. This role will collaborate with diverse stakeholders and partners across the University system to capture and create engaging, social‑first content that brings the Alliant story to life and elevates the voice of the Alliant community including students, faculty and alumni across social platforms.
To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate the ability to leverage your deep understanding of the social landscape into impactful strategies and storytelling.
Starting Salary
$67,000 annualized, Full‑Time, Exempt. Benefits Plans Include

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field. Experience: 2-3 years of proven experience creating high performing social content for brands across a variety of social platforms (with a focus on short form video): TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X/Twitter, LinkedIn. Certifications, Licenses, etc.: None. Skills
Expertise in video editing including ability to handle basic sound design or audio edits; light motion graphics or animation skills. Deep understanding and application of in‑platform editing tools. Confident in ability to capture video and photos in high‑stakes moments on both iPhone and professional camera (DSLR / Mirrorless); ability to get all the right shots and video clips to tell a visual story. Proficient in creative programs like Adobe Premiere, Photoshop and/or Illustrator. Proficient writing and communication skills. Comfortable and confident in being the face of Alliant, on‑camera, when necessary. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to productively engage with key stakeholders across the University, Student Ambassadors, agency partners, creative and production crews, etc. to achieve the results needed for success. Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are a must. Duties & Responsibilities

Lead execution of social content creation for the Alliant system of campuses. Regularly capture assets on‑site on and around Alliant campuses (may require occasional live event coverage) with an emphasis on short‑form video formats for TikTok and Reels. Work closely with students, faculty, university leaders, and alumni to authentically capture and share their unique stories through engaging, social‑first content. Collaborate with marketing team on the evolution of visual identity and brand voice and ensure alignment across social content. Present social concepts/content in both internal and agency partner reviews. Maintain an efficient and organized asset management and editing workflow for all projects. Social Media Strategy & Management (30%)
A primary player in guiding the social content development cycle from collaborating with broader marketing team on content briefs to creating publish‑ready content. Work with the broader marketing team and agency partners to impact development and implementation of a monthly content calendar including organic, evergreen content and involvement in larger, integrated campaigns. Monitor latest social trends and industry news to inform planned content as well as on‑brand opportunities to create trend‑forward, quick‑turn, topical social content. Upload and schedule social content for publishing. Leverage social performance data/reporting to drive continuous optimization. Supervisory Responsibility
Direct Reports: None Indirect Reports: Freelance creatives and agencies Contact Responsibility
Internal: Interacts with supervisor to receive direction and instructions and/or review of work results. This person will also work closely with stakeholders across Marketing, Enrollment, Partnership Development, Student Services, Alumni Relations, Faculty, and Campus Directors to facilitate content needs and strategy. External: Interacts with corporations, other educational institutions, advertising agencies, and freelancers to develop and maintain partnerships. Primary Work Location, Hours & Travel Requirements
Office Location: Remote, based in San Diego (open to LA). Work Hours: Standard office hours, with occasional need to work evenings/weekends. Travel: Semi‑frequent; expect to travel 1‑3x/month to capture content (i.e. on campuses or at events).
