Job Summary/Description:
The Director of Paid Media & Managed Platforms leads GDM’s non-programmatic digital channels, including Paid Search, Paid Social, and Managed Platforms (QA, SEO, and Email). This role manages multiple managers and their teams, ensuring campaign accuracy, operational excellence, and scalable processes. They act as a strategic partner to sales and a counterpart to the Director of Programmatic, helping translate complex digital operations into clear, client-ready solutions. Exceptional communication skills and experience working with broadcast stations are essential.
Responsibilities
Lead Paid Search, Paid Social, and Managed Platforms teams with clear goals, workflows, and accountability
Manage and mentor team managers (Search, Social, Managed Platforms) and their staff
Oversee QA, SEO, and Email vendor partnerships to ensure quality and efficiency
Establish scalable processes for campaign setup, delivery, and optimization across all non-programmatic channels
Collaborate closely with the Director of Programmatic while maintaining clear ownership separation
Translate technical campaign details into sales-friendly communication for stations
Partner with GDM Strategy and Campaign Support to elevate station guidance and client experience
Ensure SLAs, turnaround times, and quality standards are consistently met
Lead operational improvements, documentation, and cross-team communication
Support new product rollouts and enhancements in Paid Search and Paid Social
Guide teams through complex campaign troubleshooting and performance optimization
Contribute to forecasting, staffing plans, and resource modeling
Maintain a culture of accuracy, responsiveness, and customer service
Qualifications
7–10+ years in digital advertising, including Paid Search and Paid Social leadership
Experience managing large teams and managers
Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts for sales and clients
Prior experience supporting or working with broadcast stations
Proven success in creating scalable workflows and improving operational efficiency
Deep understanding of cross-channel digital media and QA processes
Ability to balance operational rigor with a client-centric, sales-minded approach
Experience managing vendor relationships (SEO, Email, QA partners)
Strong analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills
Ability to work collaboratively with parallel leaders (e.g., Director of Programmatic)
