The Bible Acquisitions team at Tyndale House Publishers plays a critical role in publishing and disseminating God’s Word around the world, increasing Bible use, and innovating Bible engagement. We are a mission‑driven, collaborative, and impact‑focused group, passionate about advancing God’s Kingdom through Scripture. Our work centers on serving the global church through the development of meaningful, innovative Bible products. As part of this supportive and creative team, you’ll be surrounded by people who care deeply about the gospel, one another, and the work we’ve been called to do.

As Acquisitions Editor on the Bible Publishing team, you’ll help identify, acquire, and develop compelling Bible products—working with internal teams, external authors, and ministry partners. From creating new Bible concepts to refreshing existing lines, you’ll be a strategic voice in shaping the most trusted Christian Bible products in the market.

What You’ll Do

Discover and evaluate new Bible product ideas, authors, and formats

Analyze market trends and competitor offerings

Develop proposals and present them to cross‑functional committees

Assist in contract negotiation and content planning

Shepherd projects from idea to publication, aligning with editorial, production, and design

Maintain clear project vision across teams and stakeholders

Ensure that product timelines and budgets are met

Champion key Bible sub‑brands internally and externally

Manage day‑to‑day author/partner relationships and communication

Identify opportunities for brand growth and content repackaging

Collaborate on messaging, fact sheets, and product positioning

Support and participate in New Product Presentations at seasonal Sales Conferences

Equip teams with accurate, timely product information

Skills and Qualifications Needed

2–4 years of experience in publishing, content development, product management, or a related field

Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related area

Theological or biblical studies training or equivalent experience preferred

Strong knowledge of the Bible and interest in Scripture engagement; understanding of Bible translation a plus

Familiarity with Christian publishing and the evangelical Christian market is highly preferred

Clear communicator—strong written and verbal communication skills across teams and with authors

Strategic thinker—able to analyze market trends and develop content that meets audience needs

Creative and collaborative, with proven relational skills and a team‑first mindset

Detail‑oriented and organized, with ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously

Technically proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook; comfortable using internal data systems

Process‑and deadline‑driven, with a self‑starter mindset and commitment to excellence

Willingness to travel up to 20% as needed

Alignment with and adherence to the Bible as God’s Word and agreement with our Statement of Faith

After an initial training period, this role is open to a hybrid work schedule, which means you'll be given the flexibility to split time between working from home and in the office.
