Location of Position: Houston, TX

The Position: As an

Instrumentation and Controls Designer , you will be responsible to develop and analyze control systems, instrumentation, and related equipment. Your expertise will be essential in designing components and terminations for complete instrumentation interconnect wiring diagrams, ensuring proper connectivity and functionality. Your main objective will be to create detailed designs, plans, and specifications for the construction and installation of new systems, as well as the modification and upgrade of existing ones while working closely with a team of engineers and project managers. This will involve coordinating with the design team to ensure all aspects of the project are addressed and that the final designs are accurate and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Position Responsibilities: All Levels III, IV, V

Provide computer‑aided design (CAD) drafting, prepare drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, vendor data, and sketches

Coordinate and consult with engineers or other designers to complete projects, ensuring adherence to established specifications and standards

Support equipment sizing & selection, alternative analyses, and other deliverables

Support the engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of facilities

Present design deliverables to project members, cross‑functional teams, senior leadership, external vendors, clients, and other stakeholders

Plan, forecast, and actualize deliverable progress to support project reporting and schedule requirements

Prepare, review, and approve instrumentation equipment, conduit, and wiring BOMs and designs

Identify scope changes and estimate impact to effort and schedule

Prepare, review, and approve HMI layout and Network Architecture Diagrams

Level IV

Support proposal efforts by evaluating RFP scope, identifying list of deliverables, and estimating effort required

Participate in project scoping, planning, status reporting, and scope management.

Work is highly independent

Level V

All responsibilities of level IV

Monitor progress and performance against the project plan and proactively address issues

Provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility

Work Autonomously

Qualifications:

4 - 7+ years experience, depending on the level of the position

Bachelor's or Associate's degree or equivalent preferred

Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) and 3D CAD experience required

Desired Skills and Competencies:

Excellent facilitation, communication, and analytical skills - written and verbal

Attention to detail

High level of personal integrity

Strong relationship capabilities

Proficient in both written and spoken English
