Responsibilities

Design and develop cutting‑edge algorithms to maximize compression efficiency

Optimize codec performance through low‑level and system‑level enhancements

Push the boundaries of state‑of‑the‑art video coding technologies to deliver superior visual quality

Conduct research and development on AI‑powered codecs, including end‑to‑end image/video compression systems

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

In‑depth knowledge of video coding standards (e.g., HEVC/H.265, AV1, H.266/VVC), reference softwares (e.g., , ECM, x265, VVEnc) or AI‑based codec systems

Strong programming, debugging, and optimization skills in C/C++ or other general‑purpose programming languages

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in developing video applications such as live streaming, video conferencing, or offline transcoding

Hands‑on experience with software codec development

Background in international standardization efforts

Familiarity with SIMD/NEON optimization and multi‑threaded programming

Strong understanding of business needs and the ability to align technical solutions with product and market goals

Job Information The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $177,688 - $341,734 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
