Responsibilities

Collaborate with subject matter experts to create industry‑driven competencies, learning objectives, and course deconstruction outlines.

Work with stakeholders to identify and integrate appropriate tools, best practices, techniques, and materials for engaging educational experiences.

Provide insights and recommendations for selection of learning objects, activities, and assessments that align with objectives and are based on Instructional Design Theory and Adult Learning Principles.

Identify and integrate learning outcomes and competencies into design, development, implementation, and management of instructional content, courses, and projects.

Ensure quality of each course using the TSTC OSCQR rubric and ADA guidelines.

Assist the Instructional Design Lead in meeting deadlines, maintaining schedules, and identifying risks early.

Offer input to the Instructional Design Lead regarding course development processes and continuous quality improvement.

Manage multiple development projects and coordinate production work with the Production Specialist Team.

Assist in development of multimedia content as needed.

Stay current with emerging technology trends and applications.

Develop and lead professional development opportunities for faculty and staff on instructional tools and design.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Minimum of three years instructional design experience, preferably online education in higher education.

Well‑versed in design methodologies such as ADDIE, SAM, backward design, competency‑based education, and interactive learning experiences.

Experience designing authentic assessments and engaging course content.

Portfolio required.

Strong time‑management and multitasking skills to meet deadlines.

Ability to take responsibility for projects with minimal supervision.

Knowledge of Instructional Design Theory, Adult Learning Principles, and ADA Guidelines.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.

Proficiency with authoring tools and digital multimedia production tools (HTML/XML, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Captivate, Storyline).

Skill in production of instructional materials including graphics and interactive media.

Familiar with Learning Management Systems, preferably Canvas.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, across email, chat, and videoconferencing.

Professional attitude with a solution‑focused mindset, positive demeanor, attention to detail, and customer‑service focus.

Experience developing short‑term industry‑driven training preferred.

Adaptable to rapid‑paced and changing project demands.
