Overview The Associate Womenswear Designer is responsible for developing the Women’s apparel under the direction of VP of Product Design and execute product across all categories including cut & sewn knit, woven and denim.
About The Role Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities:
Works with Vice President of Design to develop styles that align with the brand direction.
Preparation for seasonal creative overview board presentations that meet all calendar deadlines and milestones.
Seeks innovation through vintage research, market study, fabric innovation and online analysis (Trend Research & Concept development).
Sketching/coloring Illustrator cad for new products.
Partners cross-functionally with the team to maintain style counts that match the merchandising plan.
Collaborates with vendors, hub teams, and internal sourcing team on bringing newness to product development and meet costing requirement.
Participate fittings and works closely with tech team on sample execution.
What We Are Looking For Skills & Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design (or equivalent experience and education).
2+ years of design experience in a comparable retail environment.
Must be detail oriented, able to multitask and prioritize based on business objectives.
Ability to act as liaison between many departments: excellent communication and analytic skills.
Comfortable working in a hybrid environment - working in office several days a week (based on the needs of the business or big milestone week) with occasional remote work from home.
Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe experience a must.
