PT Library Assistant - Evenings and Saturdays - Franklin Township Public Library The Franklin Township Public Library (Gloucester County) seeks a motivated and friendly team member who is comfortable using technology and can provide excellent customer service. The schedule is between 20-27 hours weekly, nights and Saturdays. Duties & Responsibilities Circulation tasks including using the Integrated Library System (ILS), checking materials in and out, handling cash for fines and fees, placing holds, registering library cardholders, and updating patron records. Answering patron questions for information, directions, and reading recommendations in person and by phone. Assisting patrons using Library computers or personal devices to access the Internet, digital resources, or computer programs; photocopier, scanner, and fax machine, as well as mobile printing. Maintaining the Library collection by shelving, shelf-reading, and processing materials. Promoting materials and programming. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to work well with persons of all ages Excellent computer skills with the ability to learn quickly Comfortable working independently completing tasks as well as with other team members Ability to carry light loads weighing up to 20 lbs and push a rolling book cart weighing up to 100 lbs Ability to sit or stand for extended lengths of time Ability to bend, stretch, and lift arms above shoulder height Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age Must have High School Diploma or GED Experience working in a public library or customer service environment preferred Schedule This position is evenings and Saturdays. Saturdays: the 2 nd , 3 rd , 4 th , 5 th Saturdays of the month will be regularly-scheduled days. 1 st Saturday of the month coverage, if needed. Evenings: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday will be regularly-scheduled. Flexibility for other coverage as needed, day or evening, preferred. Salary & Benefits This position is hourly, with a minimum starting hourly wage of $15.49. All part-time Library staff are eligible for accrued sick time based on the requirements of the New Jersey Paid Sick Leave Law.
