Job Title Base Aircraft Maintenance Technician

Location Anchorage, AK

Reports To Line Maintenance Manager

FLSA Status Exempt

Summary The Base Aircraft Maintenance report to a Line Maintenance Supervisor and carry out instructions assigned in accordance with FAA regulations and National Airlines policies and procedures. They are responsible for servicing, inspecting, and maintaining aircraft, aircraft engines, and associated components. Effectively perform work to meet deadlines and performance goals following company policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

Review aircraft log entries with flight personnel on trip arrivals

Perform all duties in compliance with General Maintenance Manual, Company policy and all applicable FAA and DOT regulations, including proper completion of paperwork and forms related to assignment

Stand, stoop, and maneuver into small or awkward places and positions to perform, repair, maintenance, overhaul, and inspection of assigned equipment, components, and aircraft as required by location, according to established procedures and requirements. Climb in and out of aircraft being repaired as required

Move and manipulate parts of various sizes and shapes using hand and repair tools. Must be capable of manipulating small parts

Troubleshoot system(s), disassemble, repair and reassemble sections and components to maintain full functioning equipment according to requirements

Maintain work areas, vehicles, and materials in a clean and safe condition

Being accountable for the quality of the work the individual performs, ensuring all assigned tasks are completed efficiently and safely

When authorized by Quality Control (QC), perform inspection of designated Required Inspection Items as outlined in the General Maintenance Manual.

Maintain contact with Maintenance Control regarding the aircraft’s condition whenever operating outside of your base.

Forward copies of repair information to Maintenance Control as work is completed.

Maintain current inventory of flyaway kits, including serviceable parts, unserviceable parts, and tools. Coordinate the return of used parts

Responsible and accountable for all work performed

Submit personal OJT Task Cards on time and accurately

Maintain the work area in a safe, clean, and operative condition and ensure all tools are accounted for at completion of all assigned tasks

Properly care for and use tooling and equipment used for aircraft maintenance

Notify the Maintenance Supervisor and all other appropriate Team Members of any condition that would compromise the airworthiness of National Airlines aircraft

Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by Maintenance Leadership, which includes the Manager, and/or Director of Maintenance (DOM)

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma

Must be at least 18 years of age

Maintain a valid Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate, or Repairman Certificate, and keep the certificate available for inspection by the FAA, NTSB, or National Airlines Supervisor/Manager

Must have no history of infractions on A&P license and recent experience on commercial aircraft types

Ability to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Valid passport for international travel and able to travel unrestricted to and from the United States

Must be flexible and willing to work any assigned shift to support a 24/7 operation

Ability to travel with short notice and remain overnight for days if needed

Must complete and pass the TSA required fingerprint‑based criminal history records check (CHRC) and National Airlines background check, which also includes DOT Pre‑Employment testing

Preferred Qualifications

Understanding and working knowledge of FAA regulations including FAR part 121 operations

Experience maintaining Boeing 747, 777, and/or Airbus A330 family aircraft

Familiar with an airline Maintenance Tracking System (M&E) such as TRAX, AMOS, or another similar system

Degree in Aerospace, Aviation Maintenance or Business Degree preferred

Additional Qualifications

Skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Must be fluent in English

Exemplifies National Airline's safety culture, values, and mission

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Excellent problem‑solving skills

Ability to work with individuals and teams at all levels in the organization

Certificates/Licenses

Airframe and Power plant Certificate is required.

Federal Communications Commission license, preferred.

Travel/Other Requirements

Must be able to travel domestically and internationally without restrictions

Physical Demands

Extended periods at workstation, using a keyboard, viewing a computer screen, and communicating by telephone and in person.

Ability to frequently crawl, bend, kneel, climb, stoop and work in confined spaces moving vehicles, aircraft and situational awareness

Must be able to climb and work from ladders, and/or walk for extended periods

Ability to lift to a minimum of 70 pounds and maneuver up to 125 with the appropriate equipment.

Work Environment

Airport tarmac exposed to weather elements

On board aircraft, traveling with Flight Crew to different destinations

Outside, and Office settings
