About the job: You will be involved in the development of the C-130 aircraft corrosion prevention and control program. Your expertise will be used in updating C-130 technical data, such as equipment manuals, engineering technical reports, and operating and maintenance instructions. You will be part of a team that generates, reviews and edits all meeting proceedings, technical reports, and test plans. You must have aircraft maintenance knowledge necessary to support the C-130 Corrosion Prevention and Control Program team in conducting on‑site equipment condition assessments and shop surveys in CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, review, and edit technical documents related to the C-130 program.

Update technical data including equipment manuals, engineering reports, and operating/maintenance instructions.

Generate, review, and edit meeting proceedings, technical reports, and test plans.

Assess equipment condition and conduct shop surveys in CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Qualifications & Requirements

U.S. citizen.

Must be able to obtain a Secret Security clearance (an active Secret clearance or NACI considered a plus).

Minimum 8 years’ work experience in military‑style technical writing; a BA in Composition & Technical Writing may be considered in lieu of experience.

Ability to work independently without direct supervision and collaborate with technical and engineering personnel to review and update technical schematics and material and process control documents.

Knowledgeable in standard aspects of aircraft structures, corrosion prevention and control methodologies, and how to implement new technologies.

Minimum of 8 years of Air Force aircraft experience, preferred 4 years on the C-130; past experience in aircraft structural maintenance is a plus.

Very knowledgeable in the use of Air Force technical orders and interpretation of aircraft detailed engineering drawings.

Very knowledgeable in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and graphics software; capable of generating and maintaining graphic charts and other computer‑generated products.

Very knowledgeable in developing, revising, editing, and writing accurate and grammatically correct reports, newsletters, and other technical documentation in accordance with current requirements.

Medically able to travel to various locations in CONUS and OCONUS.

Medically able to wear a full‑face cartridge paint respirator.
