$91,000 – $123,000 base salary + 401(k) match up to 6%, profit sharing, overtime eligibility, tuition reimbursement, long-term incentive plans

Position Summary
The Project Systems AutoCAD Designer is responsible for providing drafting services, database manipulation, and reporting to support project execution across engineering teams. This role assists in managing the Intelligent P&ID application system and contributes to plant design activities by transforming conceptual designs and engineering input into accurate, high-quality deliverables. Working closely with a Senior Project Systems Designer and reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, this position is critical to maintaining consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in drawing production and P&ID management. As a key contributor on a collaborative engineering team, this individual will help streamline workflows, improve data integrity, and support continuous enhancement of Intelligent P&ID processes.
What You’ll Do
Prepare P&IDs, equipment lists, line lists, instrument lists, and other deliverables related to P&ID packages
Perform computer-aided drafting to create P&IDs and PFDs for basic and detailed engineering
Take conceptual designs, sketches, and engineering ideas and develop complete engineered drawings
Customize and develop Intelligent P&ID production procedures to ensure consistent, efficient working practices
Maintain and update symbol libraries, attributes, and lookup tables to align with project specifications
Check P&ID drawings for accuracy, consistency, and completeness
Develop reports to support engineers and designers while verifying database integrity
Collaborate across departments to build consensus and support team-based project execution
Streamline work processes by reducing manual data re-entry and improving accuracy
Support the continuous improvement and application of Intelligent P&IDs across engineering disciplines
Coordinate with Intelligent P&ID software vendors regarding issues, enhancements, and updates
Complete ongoing training to maintain deep understanding of Intelligent P&ID tools
Assist in the successful implementation of Intelligent P&IDs across multiple disciplines
What You Bring
Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in a technical design or drafting environment
Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting or related piping/mechanical discipline
Advanced skills using Autodesk and Microsoft products
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Excel, and Visual Basic (or comparable programming tools)
Ability to meet schedule and delivery commitments
Strong technical writing, documentation, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, design, and project teams
Willingness to undergo and pass a background check and drug screen
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available)
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with AVEVA P&ID and AVEVA Engineering software, especially P&ID development
Experience with database management in an engineering or design environment
Prior experience supporting plant design or process engineering teams
