Apple Vision Pro is a revolutionary spatial computer that seamlessly blends digital content with your physical space. It will allow us to do the things we love in ways never before possible — all while staying connected to the people around us.

The Vision Products Group (VPG) is looking for a Senior Software Engineering Manager to help us push the limits of the next generation of spatial media. This team works on key technologies and frameworks that enables spatial media experiences on Vision Pro and future products. Description We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join our team of media processing specialists. Your mission will be to lead and mange the team that works on the next generation media technologies, media processing pipeline and frameworks that powers exciting media experiences on Apple Vision Pro and future products. We need your passion, knowledge, and creativity to solve complex technical challenges. You will have a unique and direct opportunity to create products that will inspire millions of Apple’s customers as a core member of our fast-paced group.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineering Manager, your responsibilities include:

Lead and grow a high performing team for media technologies and frameworks

Set strategies, create a culture where the team can innovate and pioneer cutting‑edge technologies that redefine how we experience and consume media

Partner with program management to define and drive the team’s execution plan

Design media processing software frameworks for Apple Vision Pro and future products

Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams (software, hardware, algorithms and UX) to create ground breaking technologies and systems

Present key updates and insights to executive leadership

Minimum Qualifications

5+ years of experience leading a team

10+ years of experience with software development

Experience with image and video processing, media processing pipelines

Excellent programming skills and proficient with one of the programming languages: C/C++, Objective‑C, or Swift

Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills

A strong focus on end user experience

Creative and collaborative approach to problem solving, and a drive to build products that surprise and delight

Preferred Qualifications

Success shipping media products involving image and video processing, video capture/playback, or media processing pipeline is a plus

Familiarity with AR/VR technologies

Experience with iOS / macOS development

Experience with developing media SDKs, frameworks and customer facing APIs

Experience with media formats (HEVC, H264, JPEG, etc)

Experience with camera algorithms

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $228,100 and $393,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
