and having left school with no qualifications, Terry started work in a department store and worked his way up to become the top salesman in his department. His hardworking attitude and steely grit saw him being headhunted by a nationwide company, making him one of the UK’s youngest ever Sales Representatives at just 17 years of age. However bad luck then intervened as, in 1988, the UK saw itself hit by a terrible recession; at 18, Terry was now unemployed and on the dole. It was during this period of uncertainty Terry discovered the rave scene taking him into his new vocation – the rest, as they say, is history.
Terry is a published author and tells his life and career story candidly in his book
King of Clubs . The book, in which he exposes the secrets behind how, over his career, he has given 10 million clubbers the nights they will most remember, was a no.1 amazon best seller across the three categories of ‘Music’, ‘Techno and Dance’ and ’Rich and Famous’.
For a decade, Terry played host to more than 25,000 clubbers every week in the UK and Europe. King of Clubs is Terry’s no-holds barred tale of champagne hedonism, a story of celebrities and stardom that includes the likes of Sir Tom Jones, Robert Lindsay, Howard Marks, Julian Clary, Tamara Beckwith and Shane Ritchie. Terry lived a life that only few can dream of.
