Position Summary
The Communications Manager advances the mission, programs, and activities of Congregation B’nai Amoona through coordinated, timely, and compelling communications. This position is responsible for creating and executing communication plans, developing written and visual content, managing digital platforms, and supporting departments and lay leaders to ensure clear, consistent, accurate, and brand-aligned messaging.
Primary Responsibilities 1) Communications & Messaging
Develop and implement communications plans supporting synagogue priorities.
Write and edit messaging for weekly emails, printed materials, social media, and web content.
Maintain consistent tone, layout, branding, and style across channels.
Consult with program staff and clergy to ensure messaging aligns with priorities.
2) Digital Content Management
Draft, build, and schedule weekly e-newsletter/email and targeted messages.
Manage and keep website content updated and accurate.
Improve usability and strengthen pathways for information access.
3) Social Media Strategy & Execution
Develop social media strategy to increase engagement and followers.
Maintain a content calendar aligned with synagogue priorities.
Create and post content: graphics, copy, photos, and video.
Track and report monthly analytics and make recommendations.
4) Graphic & Visual Production
Create visual assets for digital and print formats.
Ensure materials reflect brand standards.
Manage photo, video, and graphic file libraries.
5) Media & Public Relations
Build relationships with Jewish and local media.
Draft and distribute press releases, advisories, and pitches.
Submit events to community calendars and news sources.
6) Collaboration & Support
Support departments with their marketing needs.
Coordinate communication timelines for major initiatives.
Support development campaigns with communication materials.
Maintain positive working relationships across departments.

Effective project management and deadline tracking.
Ability to translate concepts into compelling materials.
Responsive and collaborative with staff and lay leaders.

Work Structure
Full-time.
Some evening/weekend work required during special events or holiday seasons.
