Research new technologies, materials, and machinery to produce creative designs for creation of new or improvement of existing machines, fixtures, tooling, etc.
Duties & Responsibilities
Use of Solidworks, Mastercam, or other software packages as needed to create tool and die designs and related engineering documentation
Examine and understand specifications, product design drawings, work orders, service requirements, and past tooling designs to assure future designs meet all manufacturing expectations
Selection of standard components to incorporate into design concepts for ease of use and continued maintenance
Provide assistance as needed in the tool room to create CNC programs or provide guidance on design intent
Modify tool designs according to trial or production service data to make overall process improvements
Communicate and develop relationships with outside vendors
Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Working knowledge or education in the use of Solidworks or other 3D CAD design software to create assemblies and tooling/machine designs
5-10 years of experience as a Journeyman Tool and Die Maker and/or Tool & die design is preferred
Paid vacation and 11 paid holidays
