We need talented professionals across multiple disciplines who want to contribute to the company’s mission and advance its vision, while also shaping its future.**How you’ll shape the future of the Technical Marketing group:*** Maintain strong relationships with technical contacts at assigned customers.* Define the features & benefits of RYAM’s product and determine RYAM’s value in use vs the next best competitive alternatives.* Seek opportunities and technical intelligence at customers, assess potential value of those opportunities and intelligence, and convey the information to the sales team and product management and sufficiently arm them to further explore those opportunities.* Be an active participant and contributor to the development of Account Plans and strategy driven by the sales professional for the assigned customer.* Execute the technical engagement plan and customer strategy as outlined by the sales professional for the assigned customer.* Be the technical expert, new product development lead, and lead for their assigned application markets.* Provide directions to the broader technical department on process quality and grade optimization opportunities at the RYAM plants. Provide guidance on trial activities for quality, productivity, and cost improvement.* Maximize customer satisfaction by understanding their needs, fostering positive relationships, and exceeding expectations. Focuses on delivery, customer cost, quality, technical support, responsiveness, and timely resolution of issues.* Understand and stay abreast of relevant market conditions, developments, opportunities, and threats. Maintain consistent customer contact and timely communications with the sales team. Assess and communicate market intelligence regarding customer and competitor actions and plans.* Provide technical advice, information, and troubleshooting to assigned customers as needed. Facilitates timely and effective resolution and documentation of customer technical problems and complaints.* Maintain a high level of technical competence and awareness of technological developments, including a thorough understanding of customer manufacturing processes and RYAM plant processes.* Work closely with the customer to identify new or improved product opportunities. Coordinate with MRC and BRC Scientists and RYAM plant manufacturing to implement product and process changes that best meet customer needs and lower costs. Develop specifications and manage trial runs during experimental stages.**You’ll be someone who can bring:*** Minimum of a bachelor's degree in a technical field of study.* Minimum of 10 years of relevant technical and/or manufacturing experience in the specialty chemicals, materials, or pulp/paper industry.* Strong knowledge and understanding of specialty manufacturing processes.
Excellent relationship building and negotiation skills. Energetic, dynamic and self-starter.
