Position Summary
The Morgan Drawing Institute Postdoctoral Research Fellow will conduct an independent research project, ideally working toward a clearly defined publication relating to some aspect of the history, theory, collecting, function, or interpretation of drawings. The majority of the Fellow’s time will be spent on the research project for which the fellowship is awarded, but the Fellow is expected to participate fully in the intellectual life of the Morgan and to attend Drawing Institute programs during their tenure. The Fellow may occasionally assist in the planning and implementation of Drawing Institute programs. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow is expected to spend their fellowship period in residence at the Morgan Library & Museum for approximately 9 months, generally expected to run between September/October 2026–May/June 2027. Open to a scholar in the first decade of their career following the completion of the Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree. Compensation
$4,850 stipend per month $2,000 travel allowance $1,500 one-time payment for moving costs About The Morgan
