Curriculum Design
Translate identified performance gaps and business needs into learning requirements with measurable learning objectives.
Based on learning requirements, design and pitch scalable enablement interventions that positively impact productivity while balancing resource constraints.
Build trust and credibility with subject matter experts to influence scope of learning programs and in support of design approach.
Choose appropriate instructional strategies and content modalities to accomplish specific performance objectives.
Design and develop asynchronous learning objects.
Analyze, select, and/or adapt existing content assets to incorporate into learning programs.
Identify content gaps and partner with writers, visual/media designers, and content packagers to realize your design vision, including development of creative briefs to guide production of supporting material/media.
Devise modes of assessment, such as quizzes or stand-and-deliver experiences, to measure the effectiveness of learning initiatives.
Design evaluation strategies and utilizes the LMS tools to determine whether desired learning and performance outcomes are achieved.
Periodically refresh the training content to stay up-to-date on the latest policies and processes.
Review program evaluations, test results, and participant and manager feedback on training effectiveness to make recommendations for program improvement.
Stay updated on all emerging instructional technologies and make recommendations about when to adopt certain systems to continue to offer the best learning experience possible.
Training
Identify appropriate training media and methodologies based on audience learning styles, course content, audience location point within the learning process.
Provide direct support to instructors and presenters using technology (Zoom, WebEx) for instructor-led synchronous training.
Facilitate and deliver training, as needed.
Learning Management System
Host and manage training content on the LMS.
Analyze software needs and capabilities using best practices.
Develop innovative, blended learning solutions, administer the Learning Management System (LMS), maintaining on-line tools, integrated products and provide technical support.
Remain current on virtual learning and emerging technologies and methods.
Assist in the development and preparation of course materials and online distribution, including publication and organization of learning objects in the LMS.
Analyze data for reporting purposes and consult with subject matter experts in the development of online course materials including course learning objectives and providing appropriate supporting technologies and expert advice to instructional designers.
Identify and act on opportunities to improve digital instruction and learning.
REQUIRED EDUCATION Bachelors Level Degree or equivalent in Education, Learning and Development, Instructional Design or a related field.
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE
5-7 years of experience in instructional design working in a large institution.
2 years experience working with a Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Minimum 2 years of experience coordinating and planning training projects.
Solid knowledge of adult learning principles, including how to apply them in the design process.
Solid planning, organizational and multi-tasking skills. Basic project management skills required.
Work collaboratively in a hurry up and wait environment.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills necessary to interact with clients and staff.
Background in learning design experience using ADDIE/SAM or similar instructional design methodology.
Ability to apply concepts of adult learning theory to design impactful learning experiences for various delivery environments, both synchronous and asynchronous.
Ability to take complex, sometimes mixed messages from multiple stakeholders and transform them into simple, elegant, and clear learning solutions.
Familiarity with learning and/or design software tools (Photoshop, Articulate Storyline 360, Vyond, Captivate, Camtasia, etc.) in order to translate content needs into realistic creative shorts.
Proficient in audio and video editing.
Knowledge and use of various program evaluation tools which serve to measure effectiveness and impact of programs and learning initiatives.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on-time results.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to deliver high quality solutions quickly and adapt and iterate based on stakeholder feedback and content performance.
Experience with government-based insurance products preferred.
Experience with Health and Human Services preferred.
This position will collaborate with diverse populations and engage with health care training topics (including behavioral health, substance use, trauma, cultural humility, health disparities and public benefits).
