Overview
Trillium is seeking a Mid-level Piping Designer in Vancouver, WA. This direct-hire opportunity involves taking ownership of challenging design projects in the heavy industrial sector, supporting every phase from proposal through execution.
As a Mid-level Piping Designer, you will be the piping lead on projects, coordinating across disciplines, driving 3D model reviews, and producing high-quality deliverables for clients in the oil, gas, liquid propane, chemical, and petrochemical industries. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced designer who blends technical expertise with client interaction and wants to contribute to complex retrofit and engineering projects.

Responsibilities
Develop piping layouts, plans, and detailed designs using advanced 3D modeling software (CADWorx preferred; Revit and Plant 3D also considered).
Lead multidisciplinary 3D model reviews with clients, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with project goals.
Produce construction-ready drawing sets and technical specifications.
Review P&IDs, document existing site conditions, and capture details of equipment, valves, supports, and related structures.
Partner across engineering teams, project managers, and clients to solve complex design challenges and deliver exceptional results.
Qualifications
Hands-on experience in heavy industrial piping design/drafting, with a strong emphasis on retrofit projects.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, CADWorx, Microsoft Word, and Excel; NavisWorks is required.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to confidently interact with clients.
Flexibility to travel to project sites and perform field verification when needed.
Ability to maintain compliance and safety standards while conducting site work.
TWIC credential required (or ability to secure one).
Prior consulting or client-facing project experience is highly valued.
Candidates with background in Fertilizer/Nitrogenating, Boilers–Chemical Refinery Process with downstream processes, and Annealer systems are highly desirable.
Experience with Faro Sphere Laser Scanning or comparable technologies is a strong plus.
Associate’s degree in a related field is preferred, though equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
Schedule: Mondays & Fridays – remote (work from home); Tuesday through Thursday – on-site at the Vancouver, WA office. Pay rate: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour DOE.
