AbelCine is full-service technology, staffing, and production partner for the broadcast, film, and corporate media industries is seeking a Studio Technician to join our Production Services division as an employed consultant supporting one of our key clients. The Studio Technician will play a hands‑on role supporting technical operations across studio environments, equipment workflows, and production support and will be at the intersection of studio operations, technical production, and equipment management. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced production environments, enjoys problem‑solving, and takes pride in maintaining high‑quality, reliable studio and equipment systems.

The Studio Technician supports production teams and cross‑functional partners by managing equipment, maintaining studio spaces, and providing technical expertise throughout the production process. This role is highly hands‑on and includes a mix of studio coordination, equipment handling, QC, technical advising, and in‑studio crew support.

The Studio Technician ensures production assets, from cameras and lighting packages to recording and studio spaces—are maintained to professional standards and ready for use. This role also requires the ability to troubleshoot issues, research solutions, and work collaboratively with internal partners.

This is an employed consultancy engagement, where the selected candidate will be employed by AbelCine and embedded full‑time within the client’s team.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform quality control checks to ensure all equipment is functioning properly and meets internal technical standards.

Maintain clean, organized, and efficient studio and storage environments.

Oversee and manage inventory systems, including intake of new equipment and updating product records.

Provide technical guidance on project needs, confirming equipment compatibility and accuracy for productions.

Manage equipment orders end‑to‑end: packing, staging, dispatch, and check‑back processing.

Conduct technical research and recommend solutions tailored to project requirements.

Support production operations in a crew capacity as needed (camera, lighting, grip, or related technical support).

Assist with ongoing improvements and technical projects within the studio and equipment ecosystem.

Requirements For a Successful Candidate:

Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Film Production, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience.

Strong working knowledge of production technology, including cameras, lighting, grip, recording systems, and workflow fundamentals.

Excellent troubleshooting ability with a calm, solution‑oriented approach under deadlines or live‑production conditions.

Professional on‑set experience in a technical role such as DP, Gaffer, Grip, AC, or similar preferred.

Experience working in a studio or rental house environment is a plus, but not required.

Ability to multitask across equipment management, production support, and logistics coordination.

Physical Effort: This role requires regular physical activity associated with handling professional production equipment and maintaining studio environments. The Studio Technician should be comfortable with:

Lifting, moving, and transporting equipment weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.

Standing or walking for extended periods during studio setup, gear prep, and production support.

Bending, reaching, and climbing short ladders or step stools to access storage, lighting rigs, or equipment shelving.

Working in studio environments that may involve varied lighting, audio, and equipment noise levels.

Safely operating carts, cases, and other transport solutions for equipment moves.

Engagement Details:

Engagement: Full‑Time Employment

Classification: Exempt

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM.

Location: Hollywood, CA – Fully On‑site

Compensation: $95,000 – $110,000 + Comprehensive Benefits Package
