Transdev in Chula Vista, CA is hiring a Radio Dispatcher. The Radio Dispatcher oversees road service through communication with operators and provides customer support to clients.

Salary

$22.97 – $30.25 (ATU Collective Bargaining Agreement pay scale; starting pay $22.97 with progression to $30.25 over 3 years)

Key Responsibilities

Oversee road service assigned carriers by tracking trip performance measures, route timing, incidents, etc.

Provide customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding trips, including no shows, cancellations and missed trips.

Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators; act as liaison between the carrier and emergency services.

Manage daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service.

Clear radio of all traffic; obtain important information from coach operators concerning direction, location and problems.

Relay information to supervisors and other services as needed (emergency and police).

Relay route change and delay information; assign new buses as required.

Document and review the radio system and/or log, ensuring that the situation has been managed until completion.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; Technical Degree preferred.

Must be at least 21 years old.

1+ years of dispatching experience.

Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills.

Problem‑solving and analytical skills.

Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. (DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis.)

Physical Requirements

Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.

Employee will spend long periods sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.

Work environment is a combination of indoors and outdoors.
