St. Cecilia School: Full-Time Music Teacher (K-8) for 2026/2027

St. Cecilia School, located at 440 Norton Road in Columbus, seeks faculty committed to cultivating musical excellence and joy in students. The ideal candidate will be a skilled musician, passionate educator, and faithful Catholic who understands music as an integral expression of beauty and a vital part of school culture and integral Catholic formation.
Primary Responsibilities
Teach music classes across grade levels (K-8), including general music, choral instruction, and music theory or history.
Optional depending on qualifications: develop and lead an instrumental music program in the upper grades.
Work in close partnership with pastor, principal, and parish music director to coordinate curriculum, performances, and liturgical music.
Prepare and lead student performances, including concerts, recitals, and some liturgies.
Introduce students to the Western musical canon, sacred music, and foundational music literacy.
Inspire a love of beauty, order, and discipline through music instructional aligned with the Church's vision.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in music, music education, music theory or performance, or related field.
Competency in teaching a range of ages and abilities; choral conducting and/or instrumental proficiency a plus.
Practicing Catholic with a deep appreciation of sacred music and the liturgical tradition.
Willingness to collaborate and contribute to the long-term growth of the music program.
Competence in Hispanic language and culture helpful but not required.
Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background check.
Form students not only in musical skill but in virtue, attentiveness, and joy.
Embrace the vision of music as formative for the whole person, not merely performative or entertaining.
Participate fully in the spiritual and communal life of the school, including liturgical events.
