This position will report to Manager, Learning Commons.**Application Information**While there may not be an immediate need for a student employee in every area, Northcentral Technical College (NTC) accepts applications regardless, in order to create a pool for when there may be a need.

You will need to re-apply at the beginning of each semester for work-study/student positions due to any school or work-study changes that may have occurred changing your status. Each semester, the applications for each position will be refreshed with new applications of those who re-apply to keep the applicant pool current for supervisors.**Essential Functions and Responsibilities*** Provide support to patrons through general circulation* Assistance using the library for research* Basic computer troubleshooting, and computer program support such as Blackboard and Microsoft Office* Assisting with printer/copier questions and issues* Shelving materials, straightening the library* Collecting print money* Other special projects as assigned.* Scheduling is flexible and worked around classes.
Work-study students may use work time for studying at the library circulation desk when the library is quiet.**Minimum Qualifications Required*** Must be an active student enrolled in at least 6 credits.* Please note that students are not permitted to work in Federal Work-Study positions during scheduled class times.* Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision* The ability to read/comprehend written materials is also necessary* Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Canvas and other basic computer hardware and software is helpful.* Must be flexible to work various shifts including days, nights and weekends, on occasion.**Physical Demands**Carrying/Lifting 10-25lbs: HighCarrying/Lifting 25-50lbs: HighCarrying/Lifting more than 50lbs: LowSitting: MediumStanding/Walking/Climbing: MediumSquatting/Crouching/Kneeling/Bending: LowRepetitive Hand/Foot Movement: HighPushing/Pulling/Reaching Above Shoulder: Low**Work Environment**Indoor/Office Work Environment: HighOutdoor Weather Conditions: LowIrritated or Agitated Individuals: LowHostile or Violent Individuals: LowHazardous Fumes/Odors/Toxic Chemicals: N/AConfined Spaces (as identified by OSHA): N/ASpecific Vision, Hearing, Taste: LowWork-Related Travel: Low #J-18808-Ljbffr
