Ladies Apparel Designer at Hamrick's
We are looking for a candidate with a Degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, Textiles or an Art background. Proficiency in sketching and design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Gerber PLM is required. You should have a critical eye for color approval and print colorway development. (No remote work.)
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the design team on seasonal color boards
Research trends, identify and interpret them, and translate to commercial success
Stay up-to-date on current fashion trends and consumer preferences
Understand our unique target customer
Have excellent organization skills and time management, be detail oriented, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment
Communicate effectively with the pattern maker and manufacturing team to address design‑related questions
Maintain accurate design records and assist with organization of the design department, including updating design libraries, sample archives, and material references
Approve strike offs and lab dips on time for production timelines
Have a working knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, and garment fit
Source and develop new fabrications based on market trends
Track and meet garment development timelines for production
Occasional travel as required
Qualifications
Physical demands: requires good vision and manual dexterity; involves sitting, standing, and long periods of computer use
Required Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in product development or apparel design, preferably with experience in Ladies Apparel
Required Education
Degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, Textiles, or an Art background (preferred)
