Pay Range: $65,000 - $75,000 / year
Position Summary Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Service Writer is accountable for the maintenance and repair of the construction equipment and on the road fleet assets in the organization. Oversees and coordinates all maintenance activities during the sourcing, scheduling, work order creation, completion tracking, and warranty close-out phases of fleet maintenance. Supports project teams fleet repair needs with the aim of achieving operational excellence, quality, and financial performance.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Coordinating transactions between the company and the vendor
Explaining terminology and the nature of work completed to customer
Tracking repairs
Scheduling
Performing cost and time estimates for transactions
Assisting vendors in analyzing the nature of vehicle issues
Contacting internal customers in the case of additional work to relay the details and extra costs
Entering details of repair jobs on the company's network
Releasing repaired equipment to the customers and explaining the work done and costs accrued to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business
Opening and closing work orders, completing quotes
Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma
Internal customer service skills, working with employees to schedule repairs
A minimum of five (5) years of which have been involved in the automotive repair industry
Thorough knowledge of automotive technology, scheduling, and repair methods
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong problem-solving skills
Attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to clearly and effectively present data
Proficiency utilizing common business and construction applications such as Microsoft Office products, and JD Edwards software
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Works indoors and outdoors at maintenance facilities
Frequently sits, stands, walks, reads, writes, and uses a computer keyboard
Standing, speaking for relatively long periods of time
