Position Overview Part‑time positions teaching one or more course sections of courses in any of the following areas:
Advertising Communication Studies Corporate Communication Digital Media Journalism Public Relations Media Studies Dance Film Music Performing Arts Theatre Arts
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and follow syllabus and teaching plans.
Instruct, manage and supervise individuals and groups in a professional manner.
Prepare and administer quizzes and exams.
Evaluate and grade student work.
Maintain a minimum of three office hours per course per week.
Be prepared to convert class to online if necessary.
Develop and prepare syllabi, lectures, presentations and handouts for teaching courses.
Stimulate and encourage class discussions.
Maintain accurate records of student performance.
Create, administer and grade quizzes.
Be available/responsive to students.
Remain current with trends and developments in his/her area of expertise.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Masters Degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Undergraduate degree in communication or related field and experience teaching at the college level.
